Councillor Paul Weatherall was last night (Thursday 10th May 2007) appointed Mayor of Pembroke Dock for 2007/2008, his deputy will be Councillor Ron Watts.
Tonight (Friday 11th May 2007) a civic dinner to celebrate his inauguration was held at Cleddau Bridge Hotel. As Paul's first official duty as Mayor he was pleased to welcome his fellow Councillors from Pembroke Dock, Mayor's from towns around Pembrokeshire, the Mayors Chaplin The Reverend Andrew Davies and other noted guests. He was also pleased to welcome on her first official function as Assembly Member for our part of Pembrokeshire, Mrs Angela Burns who was accompanied by her husband.

Following a great spread served with finesse and skill by the staff at the Cleddau Hotel, cor the plates were hot, the Mayor was shall we say entertained by his special guests who spoke eloquently about the new incumbent  and the town of Pembroke Dock. The first to speak was Fiona Phillips from the  Western Telegraph and friend of Paul's who proposed the toast to Pembroke Dock Town Council, the mayor Councillor Paul Weatherall responded and thanked Councillor Sue Perkins for her hard work as Mayor in the previous year. This was followed by the well known and respected celebrity Vernon Scott who responded on behalf of the guests. Finally the toast to the mayor was proposed by our Member of Parliament Mr Nick Anger
