Councillor Paul Weatherall was last
night (Thursday 10th May 2007) appointed Mayor of Pembroke Dock for
2007/2008, his deputy will be Councillor Ron Watts.
Tonight (Friday 11th May 2007) a civic dinner to celebrate his
inauguration was held at Cleddau Bridge Hotel. As Paul's first official
duty as Mayor he was pleased to welcome his fellow Councillors from
Pembroke Dock, Mayor's from towns around Pembrokeshire, the Mayors
Chaplin The Reverend Andrew Davies and other noted guests. He was also
pleased to welcome on her first official function as Assembly Member for
our part of Pembrokeshire, Mrs Angela Burns who was accompanied by her
husband.Following a great spread
served with finesse and skill by the staff at the Cleddau Hotel, cor the
plates were hot, the Mayor was shall we say entertained by his special
guests who spoke eloquently about the new incumbent and the town
of Pembroke Dock. The first to speak was Fiona Phillips from the
Western Telegraph and friend of Paul's who proposed the toast to
Pembroke Dock Town Council, the mayor Councillor Paul Weatherall
responded and thanked Councillor Sue Perkins for her hard work as Mayor
in the previous year. This was followed by the well known and respected
celebrity Vernon Scott who responded on behalf of the guests. Finally
the toast to the mayor was proposed by our Member of Parliament Mr Nick
Anger
