| Service to commemorate the cessation of the RN Dockyard Port facility in Pembroke Dock and a tribute to the Royal Maritime Auxiliary Service (RMAS) which will be stood down later this year. |

Pembroke Dock Town Council is giving its support to an ecumenical Church Service to be held within the RN facility in the Dockyard at Pembroke Dock on Sunday 24th June 2007 commencing at 10.30am. The Service will be an occasion to commemorate the cessation of the RN Dockyard Port facility in Pembroke Dock and a tribute to the Royal Maritime Auxiliary Service (RMAS) which will be stood down later this year. The RMAS was formed in 1975 from a number of other organisations which have supported the Royal Navy over a long number of years, such as mooring and salvage, torpedo recovery work, harbour tugs etc. The service will be led by Rev Michael Brotherton MBE who is a Staff Chaplain in the Royal Navy and a former Curate of Pembroke Dock. Among those attending the service will be H M Lord Lieutenant for Dyfed, Hon. Robin Lewis, OBE. and Mrs Lewis, The Chairman of the County Council, Councillor Bill Roberts & Mrs Roberts, Captain John Wills RN who will be representing the Ministry of Defence and Commodore Jamie Miller, CBE who is the Royal Navy Regional Officer for Wales and South West England. Music for the service will be provided by the Pembroke Silver Band. Tickets will be required to gain entrance to the R N facility in the Dockyard for the service and these can be obtained from the Pembroke Dock Town Council Offices, telephone 01646 684410.
