Keep
Wales Tidy say farewell to Chris Corcoran
Captain Chris Corcoran is retiring, after spending the past seven years
working for Keep Wales Tidy. Growing up near the docks it was almost
inevitable that Chris would end up going to sea, spending many years on
ship. Even when finally deciding to make landfall, Chris could not stay
away from the sea, working as harbourmaster and on coastal issues with
Keep Wales Tidy.
Chris’ wealth of life experience is noticeable right from the first
encounter, with many stories and anecdotes (a rendition of the Banana
Boat song is well worth it if you’ve never heard it before!). Coupled
with his open, easy-going manner, Chris is a true character, one of that
now rare breed. Someone that anybody could talk to.
It
is difficult to put into words exactly the character of the man, but I
am sure that anyone who has met Chris will remember him in some way. It
will be quieter and less colourful, however, I doubt that Chris will be
disappearing off the local radar just yet - the draw of the sea is too
strong.
Our thoughts on this news "
We think Chris will view his retirement as either a 'natural break'
or a 'shambles'"
