Volunteer divers, NARC, finished off the dive season with another underwater clean up at Hobbs Point, Pembroke Dock. A huge effort saw well over 2 tonnes of waste recovered in a little over an hour. Hobbs Point sits within the designated Special Area of Conservation, and despite previous clean ups, a large amount of waste continues to be recovered.

NARC Chairman, Dave Kennard, said "I am amazed at the type of waste we found, such as a lawn mower, office chair, an oxy-acetylene cylinder, and a complete washing machine."

The clean up was organised as part of the Pride in Our Communities Project, operated by Keep Wales Tidy, Pembrokeshire County Council and Environment Agency Wales, and part-funded by the EUs Objective-1 Programme.

Keep Wales Tidy’s Fly-tipping Officer commented "NARC deserve a big thank you for their efforts, along with Llanreath and Llantrisant Dive Clubs for their help and support. We would also like to thank those anglers who stopped for an hour whilst the divers were in the water. Hobbs Point will be monitored in an effort to stop those who are intent on damaging such a sensitive and important environment."
