PORT AUTHORITY BIDS FAREWELL TO
PHOENIX BOWL PARTNERSHIP
Following a six year
successful partnership with Graham Dalton, Milford Haven Port Authority
has sold its 50% interest in the popular Phoenix Bowl centre at Milford
Docks.
The sale was concluded last Wednesday 23rd January, with Graham
purchasing the Authority’s full share, taking complete ownership and
management of the facility.
The Port Authority’s decision to sell its shares will enable Graham to
realise a number of business opportunities that are not within the
Authority’s core remit.
Established in 2001, Phoenix Bowl was the vision of Graham Dalton and
Port Authority Engineering Director, Andrew Brown. In joining forces,
the two parties have created one of the most successful leisure and
tourism facilities in the County, creating over twenty full time jobs
and winning Pembrokeshire Tourism Business of the year 2004 at the PBI
Business Awards.
Says Port Authority Chief Executive Ted Sangster, “We have had a
rewarding and successful partnership with Graham in the development of
Phoenix Bowl, and remain very proud of what it has contributed to the
local community, the County’s tourism industry, and the regeneration of
Milford Docks. We wish the Dalton family continued success in this, and
future ventures.”
With plans to explore business opportunities outside of Pembrokeshire,
as well as expand existing facilities at Phoenix Bowl, Graham is looking
to the future. He comments “Whilst it has been a great partnership with
the Port Authority, its time for Phoenix Bowl to branch out. We’re
currently looking at creating another Bowling Centre outside of
Pembrokeshire; one that echoes the success and family ethos of Phoenix
Bowl Milford Haven.”
