THE SEARCH IS ON FOR COMMUNITY RADIO TALENT

Cleddau FM and Volunteering Pembrokeshire have teamed up to search for budding presenters to help out with the radio stations forthcoming broadcast.

On air in June and early July, Cleddau FM will be presenting its local mix of news, information and public access programmes to listeners around the Haven on FM and for the very first time online.

Marc Tierney, Program Director said: "I am delighted that Volunteering Pembrokeshire will be helping us match suitable candidates with a range of volunteering opportunities at Cleddau FM.  We are currently looking for people interested in broadcasting, news reporting and those happy to work behind the scenes to assist our established team to make our next broadcast the most successful yet."

Cleddau FM first hit the airwaves from custom built studios in Pembroke Dock in 2005. Since then, Cleddau Community Media which runs the station have been successful in building their own studio base at the Marconi Centre on St. Patrick's Hill.

Marc continued: "We are extremely grateful to Llanion Communities First and the Milford Haven Port Authority, who are helping us realise our dream of establishing a community media resource.  We now have a studio complex that we are proud of, with the same facilities you'd find in any professional radio station."

Caroline Graham, Volunteering Co-Ordinator at Volunteering Pembrokeshire said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone interested in developing skills in media or communication.  There are limited opportunities in this area, so I am sure we will be inundated with requests to help out on the next broadcast.   Anyone interested should contact myself or Jean on 01437 769422 or email volunteering@pavs.org.uk.”

·         CLEDDAU FM is also looking to hear from the local community about the kind of programs broadcast on the station.  To feedback your ideas, send us details about your community event or to sponsor our programmes why not contact us by email on studio@cleddaufm.co.uk or call and leave a message on 01646 689121,
