Christmas swing supports charities

As dancers get into the Christmas ‘swing’ at Pembroke Dock’s Pater Hall, two charities - one local, one national - will benefit from the proceeds.

Organised by South Wales Jive, of Carmarthen, the Christmas Swing Dance on Saturday December 18th is already attracting great support throughout the area.

The Pembroke Dock Sunderland Trust, which is leading heritage projects in the community, and Help For Heroes will be the recipients of funds.

Said organisers and dance teachers Brian and Caroline Wiltshire: “We can’t think of two more appropriate charities to receive the funds. This event follows on the very successful Forties dance at the Garrison Chapel staged by the Sunderland Trust in September.”

Dress code is ‘retro’ with dancing to the Numbers Racket, DJ Jump-Jiv-Bri, cabaret from B&C’s Dance Troupe - and dance competitions.

Tickets at £10 are available from the Sunderland Trust office at Sunderland House, Royal Dockyard, Pembroke Dock, Tel 01646 623425, or from Rosemary Probert 07833 384383 (evenings only). Patrons should bring their own refreshments.

“If there is a favourable uptake for the dance we will start classes to teach Lindy-hop in the new year,” promised Brian and Caroline. www.southwalesjive.co.uk
