Is your Bin Collection Day Changing ?
Some households in Pembrokeshire will have their refuse
collected on a different day and time, from Monday 21 November
onwards.
The changes are due to the introduction of new collection
schedules by Pembrokeshire County Council.
Household refuse lorries are set to operate in new zones across
the County, creating a more cost-effective and efficient waste
collection service.
Every home in the County will receive an information leaflet
with full details of the changes nearer the time - whether they
are affected or not.
All households will continue to receive weekly collections.
The new schedules also mean that all waste and recycling is
collected from each property on the same day.
Councillor Ken Rowlands, Cabinet Member for the Environment and
Regulatory Services, said: “By collecting household refuse in
zones as opposed to the existing method, which has been in place
for decades, we will be better able to concentrate our
resources.
“The new arrangements will mean greater efficiencies for the
Authority and help it meet strict recycling targets from the
Welsh Government.
“As an Authority, we’re always looking to make improvements to
the services we provide for householders.
“We believe the changes will allow the service to develop in
order to meet the stiff challenges that lie ahead.”
All households in Pembrokeshire will receive an information
leaflet before the new schedules start, containing full details
of the new collections days and times.
