‘Stop me and buy one’ has taken on a whole new meaning
for ice cream retailer Mike Lightowlers who has scooped
up a top raffle prize.
While supporting the recent Forties Weekend at Pembroke
Dock’s Garrison Chapel Mike bought tickets in the raffle
promoted by the Sunderland Trust.
And a week later his ticket was first out for the top
prize - a fabulous weekend for four break in a Bluestone
Ramsey Lodge, sponsored by Bluestone National Park
Holiday Resort.
Bluestone Resort sponsored all three major prizes in the
raffle, and the winning tickets were drawn by Bluestone
Commercial Director Pamela Joseph.
Mike and his traditional ice-cream trike are becoming
well known throughout the area since Morgan’s Ice Cream
was set up two years ago - a business venture between
Mike, who lives at Redberth, and Andy Knowles, who runs
the Quayside Team Room at Lawrenny.
“I really enjoyed taking part in the Forties Weekend but
never expected to win anything, let alone the top raffle
prize,” said Mike. “It’s a terrific prize and I’m
looking forward to my weekend break.”
The other raffle prize winners were:
Bluestone Liberty Membership for a year - won by Bob
Western of Pembroke Dock, and Dinner for Two at
Bluestone’s Carreg Las Restaurant - won by Richard Gibby
of Pembroke.
