‘Flying Santa’ touches down for fayre
Santa has donned flying gear to help the Sunderland
Trust raise funds for its exciting heritage projects in
Pembroke Dock.
To promote its Christmas Fundraising Fayre on Friday 7th
December the Trust has called up its Sunderland airman
character to take on a seasonal red suit - and an
attendant seagull also sports a red bobble hat.
The Fayre is being held at the Trust’s themed Glass
House Coffee Shop at the new Fleets to Flying Boats
Centre at The Terrace, in Pembroke Dock’s former Royal
Dockyard.
Handmade gifts, crafts and cakes will be for sale, along
with books, prints and a unique selection of stock from
the Trust’s own shop.
“We welcome items for sale - handmade crafts, jams and
preserves, cakes and mince pies, Christmas decorations
and paper - all will help raise funds for the Trust’s
heritage initiatives,” said Judith Davies of the
Sunderland Trust Team.
Items can be donated by calling the Trust office on
01646 684220, or brought along
on the day.
The Sunderland Santa character is the creation of
Sunderland flying boat enthusiast Robert Dunnett of
Cogent Partnership in Kent, one of the Trust’s earliest
and most dedicated friends and supporters.
The Fayre is open from 10 am to 4 pm and refreshments
can also be enjoyed in the Glass House Coffee Shop,
which is run by Sunderland Trust volunteers.
