New Year brings new facilities
for Pater Hall
Work is to start on the EU-backed renovation and
refurbishment of the Pater Hall in Pembroke Dock
early in the New Year.
The Pater Hall is to have a new box office in
the lobby with refurbished toilet facilities,
improved access and new toilets for disabled
people, and a new kitchen to serve the main
hall.
The project is a partnership between the Pater
Hall Trust and Pembrokeshire County Council.
Councillor David Pugh, Cabinet Member for
Economy, Tourism and Communities, said he was
delighted with the plan.
"This will secure the future of this important
community building, and open up new
opportunities for Pembroke Dock," he said.
Construction work at the Pater Hall is due to
start shortly following the appointment of HM
Building Services Ltd and is expected to be
completed by May 2013. The appointed architects
are Pembroke Design Ltd.
The project is part of Pembrokeshire County
Council's Haven Towns Regeneration scheme.
The scheme aims to boost the commercial
competitiveness of Pembroke and Pembroke Dock by
making the towns more attractive for investors,
shoppers and visitors.
It is part-funded by the European Regional
Development Fund through the Welsh Government
and is part of a £3.2m EU-backed scheme to
revitalise and restore the rich heritage of the
two towns.
