Plaid Cymru Assembly Member Nerys Evans has followed up on contacts made recently at the Senedd and visited one of Pembrokeshire’s newest tourist attractions, the very popular Flying Boat Centre in Pembroke Dock.

Nerys, a Mid and West Wales AM, met up with Pembroke Dock Sunderland Trustees and some of the 50 volunteers who run the Centre throughout the year. She was impressed to learn that 12,000 visitors have already been attracted to the Centre in just 18 months and by the enthusiasm and commitment of the volunteer team.

Said Nerys: "I was delighted to visit the Flying Boat Centre to see at first hand the excellent work being done by Trustees, staff and volunteers. It is an excellent centre and one which is already attracting tourists from across the UK. The fact that they are attracting more and more volunteers to work at the centre is proof that they are going from strength to strength. I look forward to seeing the centre develop and expand over the next couple of years."

Trustee Phil Thompson added: "We met up with Nerys when we staged an exhibition at the Senedd and she promptly took up our invitation to visit our centre. We tell a fascinating chapter in recent Welsh history and it is proving to be a big draw for visitors all through the year."
