Tenby Lions dive in with Sunderland support
Tenby Lions have jumped in to generously back the Pembroke Dock
Sunderland Trust Dive Group with funds to purchase a
communications set for the divers who regularly monitor the
Haven Sunderland flying boat.
The Lions were contacted by the Dive Group who urgently needed
specialist equipment for work on the Sunderland, presently lying
60 feet underwater in Milford Haven.
At a recent evening hosted by the Dive Group at their Sunderland
House, Pembroke Dock, headquarters David Griffiths of the Tenby
Lions presented the equipment to diver Wayne Sunter. The Lions
were guests of honour as the group exhibited their diving
equipment and a talk was given explaining the work being carried
out on the Sunderland site. This was followed by a visit to the
Flying Boat Centre.
Dive Group Chairman David Pring said: “Tenby Lions have been
extremely generous and are committed to support of the group and
also the Pembroke Dock Sunderland Trust. They and all our other
sponsors are a lifeline to the project and have our heartfelt
thanks”.
