National Park takes the cake

There was a flurry of cake production last week as Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority staff got busy in their kitchens to support MacMillan Cancer Support World’s Biggest Coffee morning.

Along with neighbouring Countryside Council for Wales staff, £175 was raised at a coffee morning in the Authority’s offices in Llanion Park, Pembroke Dock.

The Authority’s Personnel Administrative Assistant Susanne Hooper, who organised the event, said: “Once again, staff did a brilliant job of coming up with fantastic homemade cakes for us to sell, including a couple of ‘man-made’ cakes!

“Our coffee morning was registered with the local MacMillan branch, so our funds will benefit people needing support in Pembrokeshire, which is nice to know.”

Chairman of Pembrokeshire MacMillan Cancer Support Phil Thompson received the cheque at the Authority offices on Monday.

Phil said: “Fundraising is vital to the specialised services MacMillan provides when people can be at their most vulnerable.

“A big thank you to the staff who took part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. It’s a great way to participate while still being in the workplace – and find out about people’s hidden baking talents!”
