School boys have made it into the Dyfed U11’s Rugby Team

Six Pembrokeshire School boys have made it into the Dyfed U11’s Rugby Team this season. It the highest number ever from one year, from the County. We wish them all the very best for the first West Wales trails on Thursday 25th March @ Ystradgynlais RFC. 4.00PM.

Boy selected to represent Dyfed School Boys @ the West Wales trials are:
• Hywel Baker - Pembroke Dock CP / Pembroke Dock Quins RFC. ( 2nd Row or Prop)
• Danny Wainwright - Lamphey CP / Pembroke Dock Quins RFC. (Outside ½)
• Thomas Hughes - Neyland Junior / Neyland RFC. (Centre)
• Osian Edwards - Ysgol y Frenni / Crymych RFC. ( Full Back)
• Ryan Conbeer - St Florence VC / Tenby Utd RFC. (Wing)
• Kieran Griffiths - Fenton CP / H’west RFC. (Centre, Scrum ½)

West Wales Schools Rugby U11’s.
Selection for the West Wales Squad isn’t easy with a base of approximately 570 District players from right across West Wales.
The 4 Districts that make up West Wales are:
• Dyfed – (Pembrokeshire, Llanelli, Dinefwr, Carmarthenshire, Mynydd Mawr, Ceredigionshire)
• Swansea County – (Swansea, Swansea Valley & Llwchwr)
• Afan Nedd County – (Neath & Aberavon)
• Bridgend & Maesteg.

The 1st trial will be approx 88 School Boys from the above 4 Welsh Districts who will then be reduced to 60, before a 2nd trial where the Squad will be cut to approx 44 players.

The final 44 players selected, will go onto represent West Wales (A & B Sides) in a game against East Wales (A & B sides). Which will be a massive hour and achievement for any of the above youngsters.

If successful, the players will play West Wales V East Wales on Wednesday 28th April 2010 @ Ebbw Valve RFC.
