Pembroke Dock Creative
Writers' Group
June 2007.
Established in 1991, an initiative of Ken
Morgan's, and still retaining many of its founder members, the Group
continues to flourish, happily attracting poets, novelists, short-story
writers, travel writers and playwrights from all over Pembrokeshire.
We meet, during school-term time, each Monday morning from ten o'clock
to midday, at the Community Education Centre(Albion Square School),
Albion Square, Pembroke Dock.
Although we count among our number, published writers and some who have
achieved academic success through attending the Group, creative writing
is our business and continues, unabated, to be written, read and
discussed each week.
On September 8th, at the Old King's Arms Hotel, Main Street,
Pembroke, we will again, as an adjunct to the Pembroke Festival,
host a Writers' Workshop beginning at 10 am. Mrs Marge Clouts will lead
the workshop. A writer and reviewer, teacher of creative writing and
one-time literary agent, Marge so inspired us last year that we have
asked her to return. We will let our hair down, later, and enjoy an
evening of Poems and Pints, a real crowd-puller in previous years.
