I am a direct descendant of George Barnes b Monkton in abt 1787 who joined the workforce at the Pembroke Dock dockyards in the very early days of its existence as a watchman and went on to become the Sargent of Police in the yard. Are there any Barnes descendants left in Pem Dock? See web site for details and contact link.

I have been researching my mother's family history and I see her family (surname Prince) lived in Arthur Street, Pembroke Dock during the 1891 census. A baby brother was William he does not seem to have come to South Africa with the 3 sisters.
Are there people of surname Prince still in that area?
My grandfather was Albert Henry Prince, born soon after his sisters came to South Africa. Father unknown it seems.

I'm a Canadian, born and bred on the wide open prairies. My husband (also a prairie boy) were engaged in Pembroke Dock 34 years ago. Lovely memories. Anyone know John & Jean Mansfield???

I was stationed at RAF Pembroke Dock at the very end before it closed. There 1958 - 1960. I loved every minute of my time there. Very nice people and interesting places to visit.

My fondest memories are of a lovely little Cafe I used to frequent and a nearby Hotel within which I used to enjoy the occasional tipple having popped over from the Cinema during the interval

...part 3. Many an hour was spent playing Hide and Seek in The Tower. If we were cut off by the tide it was just a matter of jumping into the water and swimming ashore. When I was at Hobbs Point I used to move The Mooring Rope up and down The Slipway as The Tide came in and out and then pass it to The Ferry Crew as The Ferry docked. This was not an official job so my reward at the end of the day was a free return trip to Neyland and a share of The Ferry Crews Sandwiches

...part two.My favourite places as a child were,The Barrack Hill,The Station, which had A Stores Train to The Dockyard almost every weekday,The Old Fort Rd,Hobbs Point and Front Street. When The Tide was out The Kids would climb up into The tower by climbing up the connecting walkway from The Dockyard.

Hi.
I was born in Pembroke Dock in 1952. My family lived in 13 Queen Street. My Father was stationed with The RAF as A Fireman in The RAF Regiment and was serving in The Dock when he met My Mother who was An Usherette at The Grand Cinema. I have nothing but fond memories of The Dock and return, which unfortunately is not often, when I can to visit my relations The Boswells and The Blakmores. Part 2 to follow

I was stationed at Llannion barracks in 1965
and although we were only at the Dock for six months , even today when the lads get together, all we talk about is Pembroke Dock
I did go back in July 66 and saw England win the world cup. I stayed with the Schofields at 38 Bush Street
Pembroke Dock is the adopted home of many ex service men
Thanks for the memories
Steve
