Over the past few weeks a series of free skips have been provided for residents of Llanion, to give them the opportunity to get rid of any unwanted rubbish. Each event was well attended, and approximately 10 tonnes of waste had been removed in quick time for safe disposal.
The skip was provided as part of the Pride in Our Communities project, a partnership between Keep Wales Tidy, Pembrokeshire County Council, and Environment Agency Wales, and is part-funded by the European Union’s Objective-1 Programme. The aim of the project is to reduce the amount of fly-tipping in Pembrokeshire, through the engagement of members of the community. “Waste facilities in the county are fast improving, leaving no excuse for fly-tipping. It is time that everyone takes a stand against those who wish to damage our environment,” said Simon Preddy from Keep Wales Tidy.
